BEAUTIFUL SOULS DOING BEAUTIFUL THINGS – Solidarity4Teachers
Every day there are so many beautiful souls around our world who are doing beautiful things to make a difference. They are the rays of sunshine, lighting the way and being the change. I came across Solidarity 4 Teachers – The Mosaik Campaign: from a friend who has worked on this amazing campaign to help campaign to raise A$25,000 dollars to meet the salaries of qualified teachers who run regular weekly classes for more than 700 refugees at the Mosaik Support Center in Lesvos, Greece.
Two worlds are colliding on Lesvos, with holiday goers and refugees both occupying the little Greek island in the northern Aegean Sea off the coast of Turkey. Lesvos is the famous birthplace of the ancient Greek poet Sappho, who is best known for her poems on Love. Now Lesvos is a shelter for refugees fleeing civil war, persecution, violence and human rights abuses. The Beautiful Souls at Solidarity 4 Teachers are here to bring Love back to Lesvos and the beautiful souls living here.

‘Mosaik- Campaign’
The Mosaik Center runs entirely on donations and they need our help to ensure the ongoing operation of the Center. Hundreds of the world’s most vulnerable people rely on Mosaik for educational, social, psychological and legal support.
Built on principles of solidarity, integration and empowerment, Mosaik offers sustainable ways to empower refugees with dignity. Over 700 students, aged between 4 to 89 years old: from refugee camps and community based housing centres across the island attend classes at Mosaik each week. These people regularly attend classes in languages, art, music and IT. The language courses are taught by qualified, paid teachers to ensure refugees receive the level of education afforded to the rest of the community.
The Solidarity 4 Teachers – Mosaik Campaign, are launching a one month campaign to raise A$25,000 dollars to meet the salaries of qualified teachers who run the regular weekly classes at the Support Center. Mosaik employs members from both refugee and local communities as these beautiful teachers – who are helping bring a sense of purpose and humanity to hundreds of refugees, and allowing them to gain skills to take them into the future.
Did you know that just 1000 donations of $25 is enough to meet the costs of the fully qualified teaching staff for a whole year! That is the cost of a trip to the movies, a brunch date with your friends or a mac lipstick (with money left over to spare!)
$25 is all it takes to ensure the doors stay open for another year!

The Mosaik Support Centre
This project was born as an attempt to contribute to the closure of that gap – to create a space in which people could gather and, for a few hours, no longer feel like refugees forced into states of entrapment and dependence, but like people empowered through mutual solidarity and support.

We all deserve Love and Support, regardless of our backgrounds, beliefs, race, financial situation etc.
Lets bring the love back into our world and let it spread throughout humanity.
We can stand here cursing the dark in our world, or we can stand up and turn on the Light.
