The Ministry of Education has approved a list of regional trainers for advanced training of teachers who will train first-graders. The corresponding order was signed by the Minister of Education Lilia Grinevich.

It is planned that the trainers appointed by the ministry will train teachers who will work with first graders in the 2018/19 and 2019/20 school years.

Improving the methodological and practical levels of professional competence of teachers will take place in accordance with the Concept of the “New Ukrainian School”.

An online course for 1st grade teachers will start on February 1

That is, the teacher must pass 60 hours of training as part of a distance course, and another 60 hours will be spent on full-time training, “said Grinevich.

The Minister also noted that the course will provide teachers with the opportunity to get acquainted with the new State Standard of Primary Education, gain practical skills in classroom management, learn methods of competency and integrated learning, get acquainted with other modern teaching methods in 1st grade …

The Ministry of Education has approved a list of trainers for advanced training of primary school teachers who provide teaching of the integrated course “Art”. The corresponding order was signed by the Minister of Education Lilia Grinevich.

The list of coaches includes 138 teachers representing each region of Ukraine.

The Ministry of Education notes that the aim of the trainers will be to increase the methodological and practical levels of professional competence of teachers who are primary school teachers and provide teaching of an integrated course “Art”, following the principles of the New Ukrainian School.

Another order of the education department approved a list of trainers for advanced training of employees of postgraduate pedagogical education institutions, specialists of methodological services, principals and deputy principals of schools that conduct supervision. The list of coaches includes 52 specialists from all regions of the country.

The Cabinet of Ministers, together with the Ministry of Education, has identified the categories of pedagogical workers who must undergo advanced training in 2018. The relevant order was signed by Prime Minister Vladimir Groysman.

Based on the text of the document, the Cabinet of Ministers agreed with the proposal of the Ministry of Education on the need for additional measures in 2018 to improve the skills of teachers under the State Standard of Primary Education.

It is planned that advanced training will take place according to modern educational methods, which are based on competence and personality-oriented approaches.

In particular, in 2018, primary school teachers will be trained to teach first-graders in the 2018/19 and 2019/20 school years.

There is also a need for advanced training for deputy principals of schools for primary education, foreign language teachers who will teach first-graders in the 2018/19 school year and teachers of schools where children study in national minority languages.

It is assumed that the organization of professional development of teachers will be carried out by institutions of postgraduate pedagogical education in accordance with the approved by the MES typical educational program, which should contain a description of the competencies of primary school teachers in accordance with the Concept “New Ukrainian School”.

The Ministry of Education must also approve a list of coaches and legal entities that can improve the skills of teachers.

By January 30, the regional and Kyiv city state administrations must coordinate and publish the schedules of advanced training of pedagogical workers developed by the institutions of postgraduate pedagogical education.

The latest online course module for primary school teachers is open on the platform

The latest online course module for primary school teachers has been launched on the EdEra platform. The module is dedicated to inclusive education.

According to the Ministry of Education, the online course has been developed taking into account the wishes of teachers, and based on the results of monitoring the implementation of the course, some lectures are presented in text format.

After passing the last module, students will need to pass an exam. All those who score more than 60% of the results of the current, modular and final control will receive a free electronic certificate.

The developers of the online course remind that it will always be open, and anyone who wants to take it for the first time or again – can do so at any time.

In total, more than 120,000 students registered for the course. It is mandatory for teachers who will teach first-graders from September 1, 2018, and consists of a distance course and three face-to-face sessions.

The Ministry of Education and Science has provided additional clarifications on the new levels of complete general secondary education and the timing of their introduction, following the adoption of the new Law on Education.In particular, the bill “On Education”, which is currently being worked on by the Ministry of Education and Science, provides for the following levels of complete general secondary education:

initial – 4 years of study; basic (basic school) – 5 years; senior profile school – 3 years.

The bill stipulates that the training of students in the programs of twelve years of complete general secondary education will begin:
